He and Robin are always complaining about how their Sirius stock isn't worth the paper it's printed on and what a disappointment it was to them. Here's the problem: the big Sirius deal, the one that was supposed to be for $500 million or whatever was based on Sirius stock. He then said that Beth didn't want to move to FL full-time. On Wednesday's show, he mentioned how he wants to move to Florida after his Sirius deal ends and wants to sell his apartment in NY because he doesn't need the overhead. He always says that his ideal woman would be an "earner" (the latest example being Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon, whom he met at a party recently). He mentions having to reduce his overhead a number of times. In fact, I think he's overextended, what with the Hampton's house, his apt here, the money he lost in the divorce, his kids and all the other people he supports. He looked as if he slept in in clothes for a month.
I saw Artie last year on Jimmy Fallon's show, he was pretty much incoherent. Artie's illness was certainly exploited for ratings. Artie needs some serious help, he simply wasn't getting it if his real life problems weren't being dealt with by a boss, a boss who claimed to be a friend. He's become as annoying and pompous as the celebrities he claims to hate so much.Īs least his wife Beth is doing something positive with her animal rescues and other animal charity related events.Īrtie was funny on "MadTV", on Howard, I just didn't get him, I also felt he was being enabled, thta his serious problems were used as comic relief. Fucking Robin Givens, then marrying a model, while spouting off about being such a big hero, how he was representing the 'everyman' crowd, who are, after all, his main fan base. Then when he became overly pompous, he was a turn off. Anyone who'd missed the show would come into my office to borrow my tapes. I'd tape from 6AM until I left for work at 9:30, then play the tapes at work. I still have tons of tapes I'd made of the shows. I listened to Howard from the NBC days to K-Rock, I also watched his TV shows. I have no idea what the show is like these days. I haven't listened to him in years, I refuse to pay to listen to radio, paying to watch TV is bad enough!Īn old friend's nephew was on the show, the balding guy with glasses, I've forgotten his name. I heard he makes 100 million a year, which is of course absurd.
